Lynchpin - music composed for 7 instruments: flute, clarinet/bass clarinet, violin, cello, piano, vibraphone, percussions/glockenspiel.
It is a project of music written as chamber music - especially regarding the instrumentation and in its being entirely through-composed. However, it is rooted in rhythmical music with so called metronomical pulse or rigid bar lines.
The artistic goal of this project is to explore the referential character of music, its ability to reflect various moods. In some respect Lynchpin's music is similar to film or theater music, but it is not dependent on any given pictures – one can say it's: film music without a film. However, it is still an autonomous domain of art. To be more specific: the predominant mood of this music and of the whole image of the project can be described as being rather dark, gloomy, obscure and sometimes distracting.
